A new song praising North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has been released. In the song, he is addressed as ‘friendly father’ and ‘great leader’. A video version of the song was released on North Korea’s state-run Korean Central Television last Wednesday.

In the video, it was seen, from children to army personnel, from medical workers to people of various professions of North Korea, they are singing the tune. To the tune of the song they say, ‘Let’s sing, Kim Jong Un is a great leader; Let’s just say, Kim Jong Un is a friendly father.’

A live performance of the song was also seen on national television. The song was performed to mark the completion of a 10,000 housing project, which was witnessed by Kim Jong Un himself. Western countries consider the song to be new propaganda.

The Kim family has ruled North Korea since World War II. He came to power in 2012 after his father Kim Jong Il died in 2011. Kim Jong Un, leader of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), is the supreme leader and dictator of North Korea. His father, Kim Jong Il, ruled the country from 1994 to 2011.
