Two cash distributors were shot and robbed of Tk 60 lakh in Raipura, Narsingdi.

Miscreants robbed two cash distributors of a financial service company over the phone in Raipura, Narsingdi and robbed them of Tk 60 lakh. The incident took place in Hasnabad Bazar area of ​​Amirganj Union of the upazila around 10:15 am on Thursday.

The two injured are Delwar Hossain (50) son of Rashid Pathan of Charnagardi village of Jinardi union of Palash upazila of Narsingdi and Shahin Mia (25) son of deceased Amir Chan Mia of Ichakhali village of Ghazaria union. They are both distributors of cash’s Narsingdi office. Two have been taken to Dhaka for better treatment.

According to police and local sources, Delwar Hossain and Shahin Mia were going to Raipura on a motorcycle from Narsingdi. After reaching Hasnabad Bazar area of ​​Amirganj Union, two miscreants blocked their way. At that time they tried to snatch the bag of money with them. On being interrupted, the motorcyclist took out his firearm and shot Delwar in the stomach and Shahin who was sitting behind. The two ran away after snatching the money bag.

Local people rescued Delwar and Shaheen in bloody condition and took them to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital. They were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with first aid in the emergency department of the hospital. Colleagues of the injured two left for Dhaka in an ambulance.

Nusrat Sharmin, the doctor on duty at the emergency department of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, said, “The two bullet victims were brought to our hospital around 10:30 am.” As the situation worsened, I referred Delwar, who was shot in the stomach, to Dhaka. How deep the bullet penetrated, could not be confirmed. On the other hand, Shaheen, who was shot in the right hand, was admitted. However, the patient’s colleagues took him to Dhaka along with Delwar.

Shahid Mia, distributor of Narsingdi branch of Naqd, said, “The two were going to Raipura branch on a motorcycle with Tk 60 lakh from Narsingdi branch around 9:30 am. The incident took place after reaching the bridge near Hasanabad market around 10:15. Delwar Hossain’s condition is critical. We are now busy with their treatment.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raipura Police Station Safayet Hossain said, “I came to the spot after getting the news. Meanwhile, the police investigation has also started. Efforts are on to identify the miscreants involved in the robbery. Those who have caused this incident will be brought under the law.
