The Meteorological Department said today that rain with thunder may occur in several parts of the country and heatwave may occur in some places.

These things have been said in the forecast of the Department of Meteorology on Saturday (April 6).

It has been said that there may be rain or thunder with temporary gusts or gusty winds in one or two places of Sylhet division today. Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places.

The Meteorological Department’s 72-hour forecast on Friday evening further said that a mild to moderate heat wave is prevailing over Rajshahi division including Bagerhat, Kushtia, Chuadanga, which will continue today. Also, discomfort will be felt due to the excess of water vapor. Sweat does not dry when the air contains more water vapor. As a result, it creates an uncomfortable situation. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country.

The capital Dhaka has also been experiencing intense heat for a few days. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 34 degrees Celsius on Friday. Temperatures between 36 and 37.9 degrees Celsius are called mild heat waves and between 38 and 39.9 degrees Celsius are called moderate heat waves by the Meteorological Department.

Meteorologist Md. Tariful Nawaz Kabir said that when the area receives rain, the temperature will drop temporarily in that area. When the rain stops, the temperature will rise. He said, if the wind is upward, the water vapor rises. And in the regions where the wind is not upward, the water vapor remains in those regions. It gives people a feeling of warmth.

Meanwhile, the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 6:00 pm on Sunday (April 7) says that there may be temporary gusts or rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder in one or two places in Sylhet division. Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places. Apart from this, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country. However, the day and night temperatures across the country may drop by 1-2 degrees Celsius during the said period.

Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the temperature may increase further in the next 5 days.

The five-day extended weather condition said temperatures across the country could rise.
