Golam Mortoza, a journalist recently appointed as Minister (Press) at the Press Wing of Bangladesh’s Embassy in Washington under the interim government, has described ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) as a “militant organization.”

In a Facebook post, Mortoza wrote:

“I did not support the arrest of ISKCON leader Chinmoy Das earlier. However, seeing how ISKCON has now murdered a lawyer in Chattogram, it appears that stricter actions against Chinmoy and other ISKCON leaders should have been taken much earlier. This heinous act demonstrates that ISKCON is a militant organization. It is part of an anti-Bangladesh regional and international propaganda network. This is not a Hindu-Muslim issue; ISKCON must be treated as a militant entity.”
