Saudi Arabia has gifted 20 tons of dates to Bangladesh for Iftar of the fasting people

Saudi Arabia has gifted 20 tons of dates to the fasting people of Bangladesh for Iftar. These dates were gifted by the Saudi Embassy in Bangladesh under the Iftar program of Khadem Harameen Sharifine.

According to Saudi news media SPI on Thursday, 20,000 families will benefit from these dates specially distributed during Ramadan.

Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Isa bin Yusuf Al Duhailan and Acting Consul of the Embassy’s Religious Affairs Department Mubarak Al-Anjari handed over the dates to Bangladesh’s Minister of Religious Affairs Muhammad Faridul Haque Khan.

Important religious figures of Bangladesh, scholars, officials of universities and charity organizations were present at this time.

Meanwhile, Arab News reports that Saudi Arabia has sent dates to 93 other countries.

According to the news, Saudi Arabia has sent 20 tons of dates and the Holy Quran Sharif to Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population, on the occasion of Ramadan. It is expected that about 40,000 people will have Iftar.

Six tonnes of dates given to South Africa for Ramadan; Zambia and Mozambique received five tonnes each; Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Angola, Botswana and Namibia got three tonnes each and Eswatini got two tonnes of dates. Muhammad Ashour, an official of the Saudi Embassy in South Africa, said that at least 90,000 Muslims will benefit from this program.

In addition, 10 tons of dates are being distributed to more than 30,000 people in the Balkan states of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The opening ceremony of the program was attended by Saudi Ambassador Osama Al-Ahmadi, Bosnian Grand Mufti Hussain Kavajovic and other officials.
