Israel and Jordan opened their respective airspaces about seven hours after Iran’s drone and missile attack on Israel.

According to Israeli airlines, due to the closure of the airspace for several hours, the schedule of flights departing from Tel Aviv will be affected. That’s why air travelers are advised to check flight schedules before traveling to Ben Gurion International Airport.

 

Israel’s flag carrier EI AI opened a new tab, saying it has resumed its flight operations and is trying to resolve the disruption to the flight schedule as quickly as possible. EI AI will continue to operate its flight operations to the best of its ability to maintain air connectivity to and from Israel.

 

According to Reuters, the airline has canceled 15 flights to Europe, Dubai and Moscow. which were supposed to leave Israel on Sunday. In addition, two flights from Bangkok and Phuket to Israel were forced to return.

Small Israeli airline Arcia said it had initially suspended flights to Athens, Milan and Geneva and was now trying to adjust its flight schedule.

 

Most of the flights of foreign airlines have also been delayed, the airport authorities said.

 

Jordan also closed its airspace to all types of aircraft on Saturday night amid fears that Iran could attack.

The Jordanian aviation authority later announced the opening of its airspace on the country’s state television, the BBC reported.

 

Tehran announced retaliation after an Israeli attack on its consulate in Syria killed 11 people, including two top commanders of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. On the basis of that announcement, Iran attacked Israel under ‘Operation Truthful Promise’ on Saturday night. Tehran used more than three hundred drones and missiles in the attack that lasted for five hours.

 

Iran said it responded to the attack on its consulate in Damascus as promised and in a limited way. Iran used ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones in the attack.
