Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society was defeated at the end of the day despite fighting with Bashundhara Kings. Kings became the second team to reach the semi-finals after defeating them 2-0 in the Federation Cup quarter-final match at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj today.

Rahmatganj must have regrets about this match which took place in the intense heat of Baisakh. Not being able to take advantage of the opportunity is one of the reasons for their loss! In the 24th minute of the first half, after the Kings went ahead with a goal by Sohail Rana, they were held by Rahmatganj. But despite creating several opportunities, they could not score.

The chances wasted by two foreign footballers, Dauda Cisse and Samuel Kony, were incredible. However, Kings’ goalkeeper Mehdi Hasan has been the savior of the team once. He blocked a great shot from Kony with great skill.

Nigerian forward Mphone Udoh played in Kings XI today. He scored the second goal for the team. However, in the first half, this Brazilian forward Robson Da Silva could not score despite getting the ball in an empty space in a great backheel. Mamun Alif, the goalkeeper of Rahmatganj, stood in front of him with a great save.

In the last 5 minutes of the first half, Rahmatganj dominated the Kings. But there was no one to score for them.

The Kings won the match with some light play and that was expected. Robson da Silva repeatedly attacked the borders of Rahmatganj. Darielton Gomez also got a few chances. Kings may have been waiting for their immediate charisma.

But Mphone Udoh played the game. He plunged Rahmatganj into despair by scoring a great opportunistic goal in the 63rd minute. Rahmatganj’s game was aggressive compared to Kings. They regularly took possession of the ball by pressing. But in the end, the team lost due to the strategy of the big team and missing their own opportunities.

The third quarter final of the tournament will be held on April 23. Bangladesh Police FC and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will play. Fortis FC will be the opponent of Dhaka Abahani Limited in the last quarter final on April 30.
