Prime Minister Tarek Rahman is scheduled to visit Feni on Thursday for a series of development and public welfare programs, including the inauguration of a major flood control project, a rooftop solar power initiative, and the distribution of Family Cards and Farmer Cards.

According to the official schedule, the prime minister will leave his residence at 8:30 a.m. and travel by road to Parshuram. Around 12:30 p.m., he is expected to inaugurate the first phase of the rehabilitation of the Muhuri-Kahua Flood Control, Drainage and Irrigation Project at the Ghatghar-Muhuri Bridge area. He will also interact with local residents during the event.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., Rahman will attend a tree-planting program at Begum Khaleda Zia Women’s College in Fulgazi.

Later, at 2:00 p.m., he will inaugurate a program that will supply electricity generated from rooftop solar systems to the national grid. The event will be held at the Fulgazi District Council Dak Bungalow, where he will also take a short break.

At 3:00 p.m., the prime minister will join a public event at Fulgazi Government Pilot High School Field. During the program, Family Cards and Farmer Cards will be distributed, while financial support will also be provided to imams, muezzins, khadems and workers serving at various places of worship.

The Muhuri-Kahua Flood Control Project carries an estimated cost of Tk 15.42 billion. Approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on June 16, the project includes the rehabilitation of nearly 68 kilometers of embankments, riverbank protection works, dredging of rivers and reservoirs, and the construction and rehabilitation of irrigation infrastructure. The project is expected to be completed by 2030.

The government has also installed rooftop solar systems with a combined capacity of 962 kilowatts across public buildings in Fulgazi, Parshuram and Chhagalnaiya. The generated electricity will be supplied directly to the national grid.

Authorities say preparations for the visit are nearly complete. Security arrangements have been placed under three zones—Red, Yellow and White—with members of the SSF, PGR, Border Guard Bangladesh, Police and Ansar assigned to ensure security throughout the visit.

The prime minister is expected to leave Feni at around 5:30 p.m. and return to Dhaka by approximately 9:30 p.m.
