Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi went to Pakistan yesterday on a three-day visit. On the first day of the visit, he held a meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif yesterday in Islamabad. Relations between the two countries began to strain due to counter-attacks by Iran and Pakistan at the beginning of this year.
Diplomatic analysts say, because of this, Ibrahim Raisi’s visit is significant for special reasons. The office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan said that effective discussions were held between the two heads of state to improve bilateral relations. Especially trade and communication were discussed between them. Apart from this, the two leaders agreed on the importance of the two countries working together to combat terrorism.
