In 24 hours the temperature increased by about 2 degrees in Dhaka

Temperatures in the capital rose by nearly 2 degrees Celsius in a single day. However, the average maximum temperature of the country has decreased slightly on Sunday. The Meteorological Department says that the temperature may remain like this on Monday as well.

AKM Nazmul Haque, meteorologist of Meteorological Department, told media this afternoon that today the maximum temperature of the capital was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius, which is 1.8 degrees Celsius higher than yesterday.

Today, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at Jessore, 42.2 degrees Celsius. Yesterday, the highest temperature in the country was at Chuadanga, 42.6 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque said that in the current situation, there is little chance of temperature variation this month. At least the temperature can stay like this tomorrow.

From the first day of this month, heat waves started flowing in different parts of the country. This heat wave continues till 28th of today. This is a record in the history of 76 years. Earlier last year there was a maximum of 16 consecutive days of heat wave. And in April 2010, Rajshahi experienced a 20-day heat wave, but it did not last.

This month’s heat wave not only set a record for duration, but also for extent. Heat wave is blowing in most parts of the country. Kalbaisakhi has become one in this April. This is also a record in the 43-year history of the country for the lowest number of days in April. As a result the heat flux is not decreasing.

Sources of the Meteorological Department say that there is little chance of rain across the country this month. Rains may have to wait till the first week of next month.
