Pro-Palestinian protests have been ongoing on US university campuses for weeks. Hundreds of protesters were arrested. In this situation, the White House said on Sunday that the ongoing protests on campuses must be peaceful.

Police reportedly arrested around 275 people over the weekend from four separate US campuses during pro-Palestinian protests.

“We respect the right of all people to protest peacefully,” National Security Council spokesman John Kerby said of the protests. But the anti-Jewish language we heard from the protests was reprehensible. Condemn hate speech and threats of violence.

The first pro-Palestinian protests took place at New York’s Columbia University. Gradually it spread across the United States. Teachers and students are protesting against the indiscriminate attack of the Israeli forces in Gaza, Palestine.

Many campuses have become chaotic due to the protests. In many places, the police have behaved quite harshly. Hundreds of protesters were arrested. Among them, 100 from Northeastern University in Boston, 80 from St. Louis University in Washington, 72 from Arizona State University and 23 from Indiana University.

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein was arrested last Saturday from Washington University. He strongly criticized the violent behavior of the police with the protestors. “It’s a matter of free speech,” he told CNN before being detained. A very complicated matter. But an attempt was made to stop the riot by bringing the riot police.
