Former legendary cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth has criticized the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) for not keeping Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad in the T20 World Cup squad. The former cricketer is claiming that Gaikwad has been left out of the squad due to a biased decision.

Srikanth feels that Shubman Gill got a place in the squad despite not being in form in any format. However, despite playing well in the current IPL, Gaikwad did not get a place in the squad. And this is possible because of bias.

Srikanth said on his YouTube channel, ‘Shubman Gill is not in form. But why was he taken into the team? There is no doubt that Ruturaj Gaikwad is more qualified for this place. He scored more than 500’ hundred runs in 17 innings. He also scored a century against Australia. The selectors preferred Shubman Gill. Even if he fails, he gets a chance. Despite failing in Tests, ODIs and T20s, he found a place. There is a lot of favoritism in selection (of cricketers). The party has been selected with full bias.

Gill, however, was not kept in the original 15-man squad by the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee. His place is on the reserve bench. Srikanth wanted to say that Gaikwad could have got this place in the reserve.
