Student protests against Israeli attacks on Palestinian Gaza have spread to new countries. This time, students of Trinity College in Dublin, the capital of Ireland, and the University of Lausanne in Switzerland joined the wave of pro-Palestinian protests and demonstrated against Israel’s war in Gaza. Protests started at a US university on April 17 to demand an end to the killing of Palestinians. Protests later spread to other US universities. The ongoing protests in US universities eventually spread to different countries around the world. The names of France, United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, Canada, Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, Mexico, India and Lebanon are added to this list.

University authorities began taking precautionary measures after students camped out and protested in Dublin on Friday. They imposed restrictions on entering the campus on Saturday. It also closes the ‘Book of Kells’ exhibition, Ireland’s top tourist attraction.

The university’s student council said authorities fined them 2,14,000 euros for the damage caused to the university due to various protests over the past few months.

Pro-Palestinian protesters set up camps and began demonstrating against the war in Gaza after Parliament reported this. They demanded that the university sever academic ties with Israel and sever ties with companies with which Israel is allied.

In Lausanne, Switzerland, about 100 students are protesting by occupying a building and making various demands. One of their demands is to stop the university’s scientific cooperation with Israel.
