As everyone knows, this year’s Zimbabwe is weaker than ever before. Apart from Sikandar Raja, Craig Irvine and Blessing Mujarrabani, there is not a single cricketer in the entire team who is known to the cricketing world. Therefore, Tiger fans and supporters are very less enthusiastic about this series against Zimbabwe, which is fueled by a bunch of unknowns and little experience.

Now the question arises, Bangladesh is playing against such a weak team before the World Cup with what goal? Is the 5-match T20 series with this Zimbabwean team considered preparation for the World Cup of Team Bangladesh?

Although BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon said a few days ago, “This series is not played with the T20 World Cup in mind. It’s FTP; That is, the predetermined series.

Taskin Ahmed, the pacer of the Bangladesh team, spoke about this series in front of the media on Thursday afternoon. In many words, Taskin explained that whatever anyone thinks or says, the series with Zimbabwe is being played by the Tigers with their heart and everyone has 100% focus and concentration in it. And they are trying their hardest to win.

Taskin’s realisation, ‘No matter how light and fluffy the talk of the series against Zimbabwe is, winning the series and uplifting the Zimbabweans will not give much credit. However, if you lose a match, the state will be criticized again. Vaccinations will be cut.

Taskin also said, ‘We are thinking about the World Cup. The main goal is the World Cup. If we can go to the World Cup with even 5-10 percent improvement as a team and individually, then we will be able to play good cricket.

Talking about the series with Zimbabwe, Taskin explained, “If we lose a match, it will be a different story if we lose against Zimbabwe.” If we win we get less credit, if we play with a small team, if we lose we will say ‘lost to Zimbabwe’! Unfortunately we have to listen to a lot. But when it comes to playing, whatever the opponent, we try to give our best. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. We all try to keep improving. Everyone’s goal is how to do well in the World Cup.
