At least 15 people were killed and 20 injured after a fragment of a Ukrainian-launched missile hit Russia and collapsed part of an apartment block. Russian officials confirmed this information.

The incident took place in Russia’s Belgorod region on Sunday. Reuters news.

It was one of Ukraine’s deadliest attacks in the Belgorod region near the border.

Russian officials said that Ukraine launched a massive missile attack today.

Video footage from the scene showed at least 10 floors of the building collapsing. Later, as emergency workers searched the rubble for survivors, the roof of the building collapsed. People can be seen running for their lives, with broken pieces of concrete falling behind them.

The Russian Defense Ministry said at least 12 missiles were fired at 0840 GMT. They called it a ‘terrorist attack on a residential area’.
An apartment building in the city of Belgorod was damaged by fragments of a destroyed Tochka-U missile, the ministry said.

Early on Monday, the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia said that 15 people were killed in the incident.

Russian news agencies said 20 people were injured and several were missing, including a child.

Rocket attack sirens were still blaring as emergency workers searched through the rubble.

Ukraine and Russia – both insist they do not target civilians.

In February 2022, Russia launched an invasion of neighboring Ukraine. Since then, more than two years of fighting have killed thousands and displaced millions.
