No leniency for law enforcement in ‘Devil Hunt’, says Home Affairs Adviser

The Adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, stated that those who engage in evil will be caught in the “Devil Hunt” operation. He emphasized that law enforcement officers would not be spared either and the operation would continue until the area is free of these forces. He made these remarks during a meeting with various security agencies regarding the law and order situation in Rajshahi, followed by a press briefing at the district commissioner’s office.

 

He assured that no innocent people would be punished in the ongoing operation, emphasizing the precautions taken, including the formation of multiple committees to oversee the process. Regarding the upcoming Ramadan, he assured that the prices of essential goods would remain reasonable due to the adequate supply of items like chickpeas and dates. He also expressed satisfaction with the role of the people in Chapainawabganj in resisting Indian encroachment along the border, but cautioned that no one should take the law into their own hands. Senior officers from the police, army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) were present at the meeting.
