“Whoever Comes to Power After the Election, We Will Work Together” – Mirza Abbas

On Monday, February 10, BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas stated that his party is ready to work together with whoever assumes power after the election. He made these remarks as the chief guest at a training workshop on “Tareq Rahman’s 31-Point Proposal for State Reconstruction and Public Engagement,” organized by BNP’s Motijheel Thana unit in Dhaka.

 

Regarding justice for the 2024 massacre, Mirza Abbas asserted, “Justice must be served. Those who committed the massacre, looted, and robbed the people of their rights—those who plundered the country’s wealth, ordered shootings, and killed innocent children—must not escape accountability. We must remain vigilant to ensure that justice prevails.”

 

He further stated that the first major reform in Bangladesh was initiated by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, who abolished BAKSAL and introduced multi-party politics. Abbas pointed out that without Ziaur Rahman’s reforms, Sheikh Hasina would have had no place in politics. He added, .
