Today is the 44th Homecoming Day of Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. After killing Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and his family, he returned to the soil of Bengal on this day (May 17) in 1981 after a long life in exile. He arrived at the then Dhaka Kurmitola Airport from Delhi via Kolkata in an Indian Airlines flight at 4:30 pm.

Sheikh Hasina’s uninterrupted long struggle began with the historic homecoming. A fearless struggle against the military junta and dictatorship has been going on for 16 long years. Jail-tyranny, torture, nothing could sway him from the path. She was never persevered even in the face of adversity.

She has repeatedly ignored the bloodshed of autocracy, risking her life to restore the lost rights of the people of Bengal. Appeared as the ideal of democracy. In the words of the poet – “Ignoring death, the great father’s dream is in her chest / she who today is the direction of the liberation of this nation / Pulling the boat broken by the hurricane with strong hands / Reaching the destination of our dreams with infinite compassion.”

The President said that the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder of independent Bangladesh, returned to the country in 1972 and showed us the dream of a golden Bengal, and his rightful successor, the idealist daughter of democracy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, completed Bangabandhu’s unfinished work after returning to the country in 1981, and is continuing her relentless efforts to realize her dream. .

On the occasion of Sheikh Hasina’s Homecoming Day, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina is the most courageous leader and honest politician in the last 43 years. Bangladesh has changed in development and modernization in the last 15 years. Bangladesh 15 years ago and today’s Bangladesh have nothing in common.

Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina’s historic homecoming day is a significant event. Through this, the seeds of overcoming crisis are planted in the land of tears. The Bengali nation was manifested in the path of fire with strong conviction in the construction of Bangladesh during the liberation war.

On August 15, 1975, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest father of the Bengali nation, was killed along with his family in the most brutal murder in history. Bangabandhu’s two daughters, Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana, survived because they were abroad at that time. In the absence of Sheikh Hasina, he was elected as the president of the Awami League in the national conference held on February 14, 15 and 16, 1981.

After that, she returned to her beloved homeland on May 17, 1981, ignoring the bloodshed and prohibition of the military ruler. Sheikh Hasina returned to Bangabandhu’s Bangladesh after 6 years of exile. That day the capital Dhaka became a city of processions. From morning till midnight, the city of Dhaka vibrated with processions and slogans. Bad weather and heavy rain could not stop the march of millions of people that day.

Kurmitola International Airport and Sherbangla City turned into a sea of people. The air and air of Bengal trembled with the sound of the immortal slogan of freedom ‘Jai Bangla, Jai Bangabandhu’. The voice of the crowd thunderously proclaimed ‘Hasina, I promised you, I will avenge the murder of my father’; “We are with you in the dark night of storm and rain”. “Sheikh Hasina’s arrival, greetings and welcome”.

When the plane carrying Sheikh Hasina was seen in the sky at 4:30 pm, thousands of people entered the airport ignoring all controls and requests. The plane landed with a lot of risk. The crowd moves right up to the plane. After several attempts the truck was taken just in front of the cockpit door after the flow of the crowd was somewhat diverted. At this time, Sheikh Hasina waved her hand to the crowd from inside. At 4:32 PM, Sheikh Hasina came down from the plane to the truck. It takes 3 hours to reach Sherebangla Nagar of Sheikh Hasina from Kurmitola.

At 7:30 in the evening, she appeared on the public reception stage. In response to the reception of millions of people in Sherebangla city, Bangabandhu said, “I have lost everything, I have come to you, I want to sacrifice my life to avenge the killing of the father of the nation by implementing his ideals on the path indicated by Bangabandhu.”

She also said, ‘I have nothing to lose. I have come to you having lost all, including my parents, my brother Russell, I want to have them back among you. With you, I want to put a smile on the faces of the suffering people of Bengal by implementing it in the way indicated by Bangabandhu. I want to take away the socio-economic as well as overall freedom of the Bengali nation.

Then began his constant struggle. The journey was never smooth, thorny and fraught with danger. For the crime of agitation and struggle for the liberation of the people, she has been repeatedly attacked by assassins and suffered prison torture. But she was steadfast, firm and courageous like his father in establishing the rights of the people of Bengal and in the question of principles and ideals.

Having been anointed by the people’s love, she has been making groundbreaking contributions to the country’s socio-economic development and the welfare of people of all classes and professions, having been given the opportunity to run the state for the fourth consecutive time and for the fifth time. Under his leadership, Bangladesh has turned from a less developed country into a developing country, turning away from the slander of a bottomless basket.
