Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina highlighted her development motto and said, I did not think about what I got or not. I don’t care about the future. I think I will make the future of the people of the country more beautiful. That is our goal.

Sheikh Hasina said these words to Awami League leaders and activists who came to greet her at Ganobhaban on her homecoming day on Friday morning.

Sheikh Hasina, who was forced to live in exile for a long time on May 17, 1981 after the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family on August 15, 1975, returned to the country by force. Earlier, he was unanimously elected president of Bangladesh Awami League in his absence. He arrived at the then Dhaka Kurmitola Airport from Delhi, the capital of India, via Kolkata at 4:30 pm on that day. Millions of people welcomed him at the airport on that stormy day, defying the hostile weather.

The Awami League president said to the party leaders, remember that you do not make a party just to be a leader, but how much you can do for the people, what you can give, what you have given – this is the big thing in the life of a political person. If you keep this in mind, many things can be done for the people of the country.

Urging to strengthen the organization, Sheikh Hasina said that everyone should be careful and play a strong role so that war criminals and murderers do not play with the fate of the people of Bangladesh.

Mentioning that they have re-established the rights that the people of the country got with blood, the Awami League president said that there was an attempt to distort the country’s history and Bangabandhu’s historic March 7 speech was banned. But the Jai Bangla slogan is back and just as the Father of the Nation’s historic March 7 speech has entered the world heritage record, so has the immortal Ekushey February and the International Mother Language Day.

Earlier, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader led the leaders and activists greeted their party chief Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of the 44th Homecoming Day at Ganobhaban with flowers.

Leaders and activists of Awami League’s associates and fraternal organizations were also present at this time.
