All SMC Plus electrolyte drinks in the market have been ordered to be recalled. Along with this, Tanveer Sinha, the head of the marketing company, has been fined Tk 16 lakh.
Judge Alaul Akbar of Pure Food Court gave this order on Sunday (May 19).
Last Tuesday (May 14), authorized safe food inspector of the safe food authority. Kamrul Hossain filed a case in the Pure Food Court against five companies selling unlicensed electrolyte drinks that are harmful to the human body.
The court summoned the owner of SMC Plus, Praner Active, Bruvana, Recharge and Turbo drinks in view of this case. In view of this, Tanveer Sinha appeared in the court today and pleaded guilty and sought bail. At that time, Tanveer Sinha said that it was not their fault because they did not know that it did not have a license. Later the court fined him 16 lakh rupees. Along with this, all SMC Plus were ordered to be withdrawn from the market.
