The ongoing heat wave in the country has subsided. Currently mild heat wave is blowing over 10 districts of the country. It will be further mitigated. Along with that, the day and night temperature may decrease, said the Meteorological Office.

This information has been given in the weather forecast for the next 72 hours from 9 am on Sunday (May 19).

According to the forecast, a mild heat wave is flowing over Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Noakhali, Cox’s Bazar, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore, Satkhira, Patuakhali and Bhola districts and it may subside.

Also, the day temperature in the eastern part of the country may decrease by (1-2) degrees Celsius and it may remain almost unchanged in other parts of the country. Night temperatures may drop slightly across the country.
The second phase of the heat wave, which started last Monday, has reduced in intensity since yesterday. Yesterday, the highest temperature across the country was 36 degrees Celsius in Gopalganj and Rajshahi.

On the other hand, as usual, the Meteorological Office has given a glimpse of rain across the country. Many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet divisions and some places in Rajshahi and Chittagong divisions. Showers/Thundershowers with gusty/stormy winds, with scattered hail at isolated places.

Meteorologist Shahinul Islam said that the heat wave has reduced in the country. Mild heat wave will prevail in 12 districts today. And day and night temperatures are likely to drop across the country. A low pressure may develop in the Bay of Bengal on May 23.
