After the whole month of April, the heat wave started again from the 13th of this month. However, due to rains and storms in different parts of the country in the last few days, the temperature has moderated somewhat. Due to rains in various districts of the country on Sunday and yesterday Monday, the ongoing fire has reduced a lot. As a result, people feel relieved from intense heat. The sky was cloudy all day yesterday in the capital Dhaka. It also rained heavily.

The long-term weather forecast for May had earlier said that one to three mild or moderate heatwaves and one to two severe heatwaves are likely to occur anywhere in the country during this month.

Normal flow may prevail in rivers during this month. However, due to heavy rainfall upstream, water may flow over the boundary at some places in northern and northeastern regions.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of a low pressure in the sea after Tuesday, it will not have a direct impact on Bangladesh. Due to this there is a possibility of rainfall in different parts of the country.

Meteorologist Kazi Zebunnesa told the media yesterday, “Tomorrow Wednesday afternoon, after the formation of low pressure, it will be understood which direction it will go.”

At the same time, the trend of rain may increase, said the Meteorological Department. Meteorologists also believe that the low pressure may gradually gather strength and become a cyclone.

Yesterday morning’s weather bulletin said that mild to moderate heatwave is moving over Khulna and Barisal divisions along with Rajshahi, Pabna, Dinajpur and Nilphamari districts and it may subside at some places.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours said that the day and night temperature may drop by 1-2 degree Celsius in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. Apart from this, the temperature in other parts of the country may remain almost unchanged.

Out of this, many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and some places of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions may experience temporary gusty or windy rain or rain with thunder. Along with that, there is a risk of raining rocks scattered at some places.

This season, the heat wave started from March 31, which lasted for 37 consecutive days till May 6. The entire month of April also broke the record for the longest consecutive heat wave. Then in the first week of this May, some relief returned to public life as the temperature dropped due to the trend of storms and rains.
