Tornado-ravaged Iowa, many dead

A powerful tornado raged in the small town of Greenfield, Iowa, USA. Iowa police said the tornado caused multiple deaths. But they did not give any numbers. At least 12 people were injured.

A lot of houses including hospitals were damaged by the tornado. The injured have been shifted to other places for treatment.

Alex Dingkla of the Iowa State Patrol said, “I am very sorry to report that multiple people have died. We are busy with rescue and relief. Whether anyone is missing is also being investigated. A relief center has been opened at Greenfield High School.

The town of 2,000 residents was devastated by the tornado on Tuesday. Authorities have ordered that outsiders will not be allowed to enter the city before Wednesday. Journalists have also been asked to leave the city by Tuesday.

Many houses were destroyed by the tornado. The tree is uprooted. The car broke down. Broken pieces are scattered around. Residents are helping each other.

Paxton, a resident of the city, told the news agency AP that he took shelter in the basement of the house. But his house survived. But not everyone is so lucky. His brother Cody’s house was broken into. All around are pictures of destruction.
