Preity Zinta is returning to acting after almost six years with Lahore 1947. But he was not seen in the film for so long. The actress talked about this in an interview with DD India.

Preity took a break from acting for about six years after the movie ‘Bhaiyyaji Superhit’.

Regarding this break, he said, ‘I didn’t want to do movies anymore. I wanted to focus on business and personal life. Many people forget that time does not stand still even when women act. I have never been in love with anyone in the industry. I have always tried to give time to family.

Many people forget to live their own life by just working, talking about other people’s lives, dating. But I wanted children. Business is also very important to me. After all, I wanted to focus more on my personal life. I didn’t want to be a good actress and spend my whole life alone.’

In the same interview, Preeti also said, ‘I have heard all women who work say, I want equality, I want to work hard like a man. Nature is a big obstacle to our equality. Because, girls have a “biological clock”. So you have to give in to nature, take a break from the work you are doing and give importance to your personal life. Now my kids are two and a half years old, so I’m back to work. I love work, but I used to feel so guilty about leaving the kids to go to work, I always felt like I was losing time, I would never get it back.’

Preeti also said that she had read many scripts for the last six years before coming to acting, but she did not get such an interesting script like ‘Lahore 1947’. This period drama is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Sunny Deol will be seen acting opposite Preity. The film is produced by Aamir Khan. Preeti is currently at the Cannes Film Festival.
