The center of Cyclone Rimal has finished crossing the coast of Bangladesh

The center of severe cyclone Rimal has finished crossing the coast of Bangladesh. And within two hours it will become a severe to normal cyclone. It will then become low pressure. It may take another five to six hours for the full impact of the cyclone to wear off, the Meteorological Department said.

The cyclone formed in the Bay of Bengal hit the coast of Bangladesh at around eight o’clock on Sunday night. Then it started raining all over the country starting from the coast.

Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick, a meteorologist of the Meteorological Department, told media that the center of Cyclone Rimal crossed the coast of Bangladesh at around 8 o’clock this morning.

 

It is now towards Khulna and Koira. It is still in severe cyclone condition. But within two hours it will turn into a cyclonic storm. It will then become low pressure. It may take four to five hours for the effects of the cyclone to completely wear off. Due to the impact of the cyclone, it will rain all over the country today.

Meanwhile, various coastal areas including Bagerhat, Bhola, Patuakhali have been left without electricity since Sunday afternoon and evening due to adverse weather conditions. Due to this, many people lost their mobile phone charge and became disconnected. Several people also told media about not being able to communicate with their relatives in the village from Dhaka.

 

The center of the cyclone started crossing the West Bengal coast and the Khepupara coast of Bangladesh from the south-west side of Mongla at around eight o’clock on Sunday night. Due to the impact of this cyclone, stormy winds blew in various coastal districts including Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Pirojpur, Patuakhali, Barguna, Bhola. Wind speed was 90 to 120 km per hour. Due to its effect, flood occurs in different areas.
