Dead bodies of more wild animals have been found in various parts of the Sundarbans, which were submerged in tidal water for about 30 hours due to the impact of Cyclone Rimal and were devastated by the storm. The forest department reported that a total of 39 deer and 1 pig carcasses were recovered in 2 days after the storm.

The first two deer carcasses were recovered inside the forest on Monday after the storm. On Tuesday morning, 24 deer carcasses and 13 more deer carcasses were recovered from riverside and coastal forest areas. The forest department believes that the deer died after being washed away due to high tide water rising in the Sundarbans. Many more bodies are believed to have washed away. Forest department officials are concerned about the matter. Apart from this, 17 injured deer were rescued and treated by the forest department.

Mihir Kumar Dey, Conservator of Forests (CF) of Khulna region of the Forest Department said that 24 dead deer were recovered from Katka Sanctuary and Jamtala area of ​​Sarankhola Range of East Sundarbans this morning. Around noon, 13 more deer and 1 pig carcasses were recovered from different areas of the forest, including the animal river in front of the Sundarban Karamjal Crocodile Breeding Center area.
