But it has started getting hot again since last Tuesday. According to the Met department, it will be hot for at least two more days. There may also be heat waves at some places. However, the possibility of sustained heat wave is low. And today, the Meteorological Office has announced the arrival of monsoon. This time the wind came a little earlier.

After heavy rain, what is the cause of so much heat and unbearable heat, Meteorologist of Meteorological Department Md. Shahinul Islam told the media on Thursday morning that if it rains heavily, water vapor remains in the air. There is a lot of moisture in the air now.

At around 6 am today, the air humidity in Dhaka was 84 percent.

Shahinul Islam said, no matter how hot it is because of so much humidity, there will be more discomfort among people. The maximum temperature in the last 24 hours in the capital was 34.1 degrees Celsius. And the highest temperature of the country was recorded in Rajshahi, 36.4 degrees Celsius.

Meteorological Department of Meteorology Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick said that such heat may remain today and tomorrow on Friday as well. He told the media that if the amount of rain increases from Saturday, the temperature may decrease a little.

The Meteorological Department highlighted the situation for the next 24 hours this morning and said that rain or thunder may occur in some places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and a couple of places in Dhaka and Chittagong divisions today. The temperature in the northern part of the country will decrease slightly today, but the temperature in other parts of the country may increase.

Monsoon is coming early

The good news about the weather in this hot weather, this time the monsoon has arrived before the scheduled time.

Monsoon usually enters Bangladesh by 31 May or 1 June through the Teknaf coast. However, the Meteorological Department said in a message issued this morning that the southwest monsoon has advanced up to the Teknaf coast.

Meteorologist Md. Shahinul Islam said, this time the monsoon arrived a little earlier.

The India Meteorological Department said in its message that monsoon has already begun to affect the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. These islands in the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea generally receive monsoons between 22 March. But this time it has arrived on May 21.

Professor AKM Saiful Islam of BUET’s Water Resources and Flood Control Institute said to Prothom Alo, “Monsoon has arrived late in the last few years in our country.” This time it seems that it will come. It may start raining sooner. This time the wind came right after the storm.

According to data provided by India’s private weather website Skymet Weather, this year is likely to receive 2 percent more rain than normal.

Earlier, the India Meteorological Department had also predicted more rain this year. Weather and climate experts are talking about the activity of La Nina as the reason for more rain this time.

El Niño is one of two wind patterns in the central and eastern Pacific Ocean. El Nino basically means a warming condition. On the other hand, La Nina refers to its opposite. El Niño has been active since September last year. Due to this, it is warned in advance that the heat wave will increase all over the world. The Australian Bureau of Meteorology reports El Niño data. On April 16, their report said that El Nino has ended.

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology announces the end of El Nino as well as the arrival of La Nina.

Professor AKM Saiful Islam said, La Nina becoming active means that there may be extra rain in the monsoon season. Because, not only the sea, but also the surface of the earth has accumulated the extra heat created now. It will produce a lot of water vapor and rain more.
