The major religious festival of Muslims is the holy Eid-ul-Azha or the Eid of Sacrifice will be celebrated on the 10th of the month of Zilhaj. However, before this, Bangladesh Meteorological Department has calculated the coordinates of the moon.

According to the calculations of the Meteorological Department, the moon of the month of Zilhaj is expected to be seen in the sky of Bangladesh on Friday (June 7). In that case, Eid-ul-Azha can be celebrated in the country on June 17.

According to the moon coordinates of Zilhaj month signed by meteorologist Naima Baten, next June 6 (Thursday) at 6:38 pm Bangladesh Standard Time, the new moon of Zilhaj month will be born in 1445 Hijri. The moon will be 0.0042 days old at sunset at 6:44.1 that day and will set 22 minutes before the end of evening twilight.

The moon will be 1.0045 days old at sunset 6:44.5 on Friday (June 7) and set 41.9 minutes after evening twilight. On that day at 4:15.6 in the afternoon Pratipada will end and the second will begin.

According to the Islamic Foundation, the National Moon Sighting Committee will hold a meeting at Baitul Mukarram Foundation’s meeting room in the capital after Maghrib prayers on Friday to determine the date of Eid-ul-Azha celebration. Minister of Religion Md. Faridul Haque Khan is scheduled to preside over the meeting. A decision will be made after reviewing the moon sighting news there. However, according to Islamic Shari’a, there is a condition for seeing the moon with the naked eye in the case of the beginning of the lunar month.

However, if the moon is not seen on Friday for any reason, then 30 days of the month of Zilkad will be completed on Saturday. The month of Zilhaj will start on Sunday (June 9), in which case Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on June 18 (Tuesday).
