Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman has warned that animals will be seized if stalls are set up in empty spaces in the capital without permission during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. He also said that those concerned will be arrested if they set up stalls after getting free space.

He warned this in a press conference at DMP Media Center on Friday (June 7).

DMP Commissioner said, we have told all the lessees, if there is an adjacent road in the area where they will be doing haat, under no circumstances should cows come on the road. Cows should not be dropped from the truck on the road. The boundaries of the market will be marked with bamboo fences.

He further said, if they don’t do that or put up a market outside then we will take action. I think it is unlikely to happen this time as it has happened in other times. This time detectives in police clothes and white clothes will be in charge of security. There will also be cyber patrolling.
