Members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) went to various mosques to make the city aware to prevent any kind of crime, especially theft, in the capital during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. They advised common people to be aware of eight issues.

This advice was given yesterday during Friday prayers. Under the direction of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman, this consultation program was conducted in 50 police stations of the capital. DMP Deputy Commissioner (Crime) Alamgir Hossain confirmed the matter.

According to DMP, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, many residents of the capital will go to their village homes. At this time there is a danger of theft or robbery in many houses. During the last Eid-ul-Fitr closure, Sindhel theft occurred in about half a hundred houses in the capital. For this reason, instructions have been given to give an awareness speech during Friday prayers in the mosque to keep the residents of the capital aware during the Eid-ul-Azhar closure this year.

To make the city dwellers aware, importance is given on eight issues that are – gas cylinders or gas lines, water lines, all types of lights, fan switches, electrical plugs and leave the house; To prevent fire accidents, after returning from home after vacation, open the doors and windows and do not light the gas stove or turn on the electric switch until the gas accumulated in the house is released;

Installing CCTV cameras in homes. Checking whether the previously installed CC cameras are operational; The thief steals through the back of the house at night by breaking the window. For this, CC cameras must be installed behind the house; Electric lighting should be arranged around the house; Cash or jewelery should be kept safe with bank or close relatives; Unidentified suspects wearing masks or caps or both face masks and head caps should be monitored at night or during the day.

If necessary, call the National Emergency Service 999; Alarms should be installed to prevent theft of motorcycles or vehicles. And GPS tracker should be installed in the motorcycle lock with the use of marine anchor chain made of steel if necessary; Criminals are looting everything by taking people under their control with a kind of drug called devil’s breath in different places. For this reason, if a stranger wants to know an address or information by showing a card or paper or tries to bring a handkerchief or something else to his face, he should immediately remove his face. If necessary, the help of the surrounding people should be taken. Burglars target homes that are dark at night. Care should be taken about it.
