Russia launched a missile attack on the home town of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. At least nine people were killed and 29 injured.
Five children were among the injured in Wednesday’s attack on a residential building, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine said. Four people were reported missing earlier.
Emergency services, police and volunteers are searching through the rubble, The Kyiv Independent reported. A search dog has been brought to the scene. Firefighters were seen putting out the fire in the area after the attack.
The President of Ukraine expressed his condolences to the relatives and friends of those killed in the attack. “Ukraine must strengthen its air defenses with partners that prove Russia’s terrorist activities every day, every hour,” he said.
