The Meteorological Department has asked four seaports of the country to show local warning signal number 3 due to the low pressure created in the Bay of Bengal. Apart from this, rains may increase as monsoon is active across the country.
This information was given in a warning signed by Meteorologist Manowar Hossain on Saturday (June 29) evening.
According to the warning, low pressure is present over West Bengal and adjoining coastal areas. Due to its effect, deep convective clouds continue to form in the North Bay of Bengal and there is a lot of pressure variation. Gust or gusty winds may occur over North Bay of Bengal, coastal areas of Bangladesh and seaports.
The Meteorological Department has asked to display local warning signal No. 3 at Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports.
Also, all fishing boats and trawlers operating in North Bay of Bengal have been asked to proceed cautiously near the coast until further notice.
The meteorologist said about the low pressure. Hafizur Rahman told Jago News that now there is low pressure due to monsoon (seasonal wind). Rain may increase due to this effect. Fishermen are also advised to stay close to shore as wind speeds are likely to be high.
