According to the Meteorological Department, the trend of rain across the country may continue throughout the week under the influence of monsoon activity and low pressure.

Monsoon activity in the middle of Ashar has been raining across the country for the past few days. It has been raining non-stop since Monday morning. The sky of Dhaka is covered with thick clouds since morning.

There is a risk of flooding in Sylhet region due to continuous rain. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has also issued a landslide warning in the hilly areas of Chittagong and Sylhet regions.

From Sunday morning to Monday morning, Bandarban has received the highest rainfall of 108 mm in the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department is recording 43 mm rainfall in Dhaka.

Meteorologist Shahnaz Sultana said that the low pressure in West Bengal and adjoining areas has met with the monsoon axis. The monsoon axis extends through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay of Bengal.

Due to continuous rains, the temperature has dropped quite a lot and comfortable conditions are prevailing. The highest temperature in the country was 33.8 degrees Celsius in Jessore on Sunday.

Highlighting the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Monday, Shahnaz Sultana said that Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions may temporarily experience light to moderate rain with gusty winds or thunder. Also, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall in some parts of the country. He also said that day and night temperatures may drop slightly across the country at this time.

The trend of rain may continue across the country on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, Shahnaz Sultana said that the day and night temperatures may remain unchanged at that time.

In the weather forecast for the next five days, the Meteorological Department said that the trend of rain with thunder or rain may continue during that time.
