The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms with gusty winds in Dhaka and four other divisions, as well as isolated areas of Comilla and Noakhali, over the next 24 hours starting Wednesday (April 23) morning. A low-pressure extension stretching from southwestern Bangladesh through West Bengal to the northern Bay of Bengal is influencing this weather pattern.

Rain and lightning are expected in parts of Sylhet, Rangpur, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions, along with scattered areas in Comilla and Noakhali. Elsewhere, the sky will remain partly cloudy, with mostly dry conditions prevailing.

Mild heatwaves are currently affecting Rajshahi, Pabna, Jessore, and Chuadanga, and may intensify. Day and night temperatures across the country are likely to rise slightly.

For Thursday (April 24), similar thunderstorm activity is expected in parts of Sylhet, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Chattogram divisions, while dry weather will persist in other areas with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will remain mostly unchanged.

On Friday (April 25), localized thunder and showers with gusty winds may occur in parts of Sylhet, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Chattogram, with continued dry weather elsewhere. No significant temperature change is expected.

Saturday’s (April 26) forecast includes scattered thunderstorms in parts of Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram. Daytime temperatures may drop slightly while nighttime temperatures remain stable.

By Sunday (April 27), rain and thunder are likely in parts of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Sylhet, with isolated storms in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. A slight decline in daytime temperature is anticipated, with nighttime levels steady.

Over the extended five-day outlook, a gradual drop in temperatures is expected across the country.
