The Meteorological Office has given a glimpse of thunderstorm with a maximum speed of 60 km over 8 districts of the country. This was informed in a warning issued for the inland river ports of the country till 1 pm on Monday.

In the bulletin signed by Omar Farooq, it is said that gusty or gale force winds may blow over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong and Sylhet districts from south or south-east at a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour. Rain or thundershowers may also occur.

Therefore, the river ports of these areas have been asked to show warning signal number 1.

Meanwhile, according to another notification of the Meteorological Office, light to moderate rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder may occur temporarily in many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and some places of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions till evening. Also, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall in some parts of the country. Rainfall trend may continue for few days.
