June was the hottest month in the world this year. Last month, the world’s hottest June 2023 record was surpassed. The European Union’s climate watchdog said on Monday (July 8).

The Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) said temperatures exceeded the previous record in each of the 13 months since June 2023.

Carlo Buontempo, director of C3S, said: “This highlights the massive and ongoing changes in our climate. This is inevitable as long as humans continue to add the gases responsible for global warming to the atmosphere.

According to Julien Nicolas, senior scientist at C3S, the record-breaking temperatures are linked to the climate’s El Niño effect, which is driving global warming.

But this is not the only reason, he points out.

Meanwhile, Nicholas says, the effect of La Nino is also going to start in the world. Due to this, the weather becomes cold. We expect global temperatures to begin to drop in the next few months.
