Mayor Taposh has recovered more than thirty occupied canals in Rampura, Basila, Jurain, Demra, Hazribagh, Kamrangir Char, Gendaria, Shyampur areas. According to the instructions of the High Court, DSCC is carrying out the rescue operations of these reservoirs with CS papers. Mayor Tapas is proceeding with instructions to build aesthetic structures and start drainage system on the reclaimed canal land. At the same time, the illegal structures built on the banks of the Buriganga are being demolished. Mahisha canal in Gandaria area and pond in DIT plot are among several canals rescued by the initiative of Mayor Taposh . The branch canal of Dholaikhal in Ward No. 46 was occupied by land robbers for about 40 years. All those occupying circles have taken advantage of illegal money by building various structures on the government land. A year ago, the Mahisha canal was also rescued. The people involved in the city building had to face a lot of obstacles in this.

Local Councilor and 1st Panel Mayor Shahidullah Minu also successfully completed the evacuation activities. Although two houses are not demolished, there is confusion in the public mind.
