A UN-run school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza was also attacked. The Israeli military claims it targeted members of Palestinian armed groups and is investigating reports of civilian casualties.
Israeli forces also claim that half of the leadership of Hamas’s military wing has been killed and nearly 14,000 militants have been killed or captured in nine months of Israeli airstrikes and ground operations in Gaza.
