According to the latest weather forecast at 9 am today, most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thunder with gusty or windy winds temporarily. Also, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country.

According to synoptic conditions, the extension of monsoon axis extends over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam. Its extension extends to the northern Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay of Bengal.

Gusts of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour are likely to blow from south or south-east today.

He said that it is raining more in Chittagong, Khulna and Barisal. Compared to that, the amount of rain in Dhaka, Mymensingh and Rajshahi is slightly less.

Meteorological office sources said that due to the strong monsoon winds, the clouds are moving over the Bay of Bengal, which is causing the rains. Heavy rainfall has started across the coast, which may continue for several days. At the same time, the wind is blowing.

Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Payra and Mongla ports have been asked to show local warning signal number 3. Circulating clouds and heavy rains are likely to occur over North and North-Eastern parts of the country starting from coast to central region. Due to this, most of the country’s river ports have been asked to display local naval warning signal number 2. Chittagong has been asked to display landslide warning signals due to heavy to very heavy rains.

Day and night temperatures are likely to remain almost unchanged across the country today. On Thursday, the highest temperature in the country was 35.8 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur and the lowest was 24.8 degrees Celsius in Qutubdia.
