Chanchal Chowdhury brought forward the cause of mother’s illness with a long post on social media. In that post, he wrote, ‘I am Chanchal Chowdhury – if anything is written using my name in any foreign/domestic newspaper or social media, in the recent situation, I am not responsible for it. Because till now I have not given any statement on any issue in any newspaper or social media.

He also wrote, ‘I am an ordinary artist. I have no involvement with anything except for professional reasons. I haven’t been very active on social media lately due to my mother’s terminal illness. Let there be peace in the country, let all be well.’

After such a post, however, instead of supporting him, he had to hear more negative comments. Many are also raising the question why he is saying these things now after the fall of the government.
