Four days after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, an interim government was formed in Bangladesh. Gwen Lewis, resident representative of the organization, said that the United Nations will provide all kinds of support to the government led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
He gave this assurance after a meeting with a delegation of BNP at the chairperson’s Gulshan office on Friday morning.
Gwen Lewis spoke to the media after the half-hour meeting there. At this time, he said, the United Nations will provide all kinds of support to the interim government of Bangladesh led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus. At the same time, they will talk to people of all parties about how to cooperate in the development and finances of the country.
Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Shama Obaid were the representatives of BNP at that time.
After the meeting, BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury told reporters that there will be a neutral election, there is no doubt about it in Bangladesh and outside Bangladesh.
The BNP leader did not say anything to reporters when asked when the neutral elections would be held.
