Encouraging certificates will be given to the students who are volunteering in field traffic control, road cleaning and beautification in the city. Adviser to Home Affairs Brigadier (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain told reporters this while visiting the injured policemen at Rajarbagh Central Hospital on Sunday.

M Sakhawat Hossain said, I will request the Inspector General of Police (IGP) that the students have worked sincerely, to give certificates to all on behalf of the police. This certificate will go to your credit, be evaluated during higher education and employment. Students are cleaning the city with their own money, cleaning and beautifying the walls with their own money.

Sakhawat Hossain said, ‘These students are working themselves, spending money, if it was a government project, it would have cost 400-500 crores, thousands of crores. There cannot be a better example in a country.

Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister on August 5 in the face of student-Janata movement and left the country. After that there were attacks on the police in many places. From that day the policemen started observing strike. As there was no police, there was no system to control traffic on the road. In such a situation, students in different parts of the country, including Dhaka, are taking to the roads to control the traffic. Apart from this, they are painting new graffiti by erasing the old writings on various walls.

In response to the journalist’s question from when the traffic police will perform their duties on the road, Inspector General of Police Moinul Islam, who was accompanied by advisor Sakhawat Hossain, said that what can be done about it has been discussed. Traffic has no manpower problem. First, the traffic police will start duty on the VIP road. Traffic police members have started their duty from Hotel Intercontinental to Jahangir Gate today.
