Court order to take evidence of murder case against 7 people including Sheikh Hasina

The court ordered to take a case against Awami League president and former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 7 people on the charge of shooting dead a grocer named Abu Sayed in Mohammadpur of the capital. The CMM Court directed the Mohammadpur police station to accept the statement.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury gave this order on Tuesday (August 13).  Earlier, the judge accepted the statement of the plaintiff SM Amir Hamza.

The other accused in the case are Awami League General Secretary and former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former IGP Abdullah Al Mamun, former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, Additional IGP Harun-or-Rashid and Additional Joint Commissioner Biplab Kumar.

Earlier today, an application was made to take up the case in the same court. In view of the application, the court recorded the statement of the plaintiff SM Amir Hamza around 12 noon today. Later the court ordered.

In the statement of the case, it is said that the police fired indiscriminately during the quota reform movement. Abu Syed, a grocer, was killed in the firing on July 19 at Bachila in Mohammadpur.
