Distribution of Eid gifts among poor visually impaired families under the initiative of National Visually Impaired Organization

own reporter: On the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr celebration, the National Visually Impaired Organization has started distributing Eid gifts among 500 visually impaired families of Savar and Dhaka city for 5 days from March 26 (Tuesday) to March 31 (Sunday). Eid gifts include- shirt, pant, panjabi, pajama, lungi, saree, three-back and polao rice 2 kg, lentils 2 kg, soybean oil 1 liter, salt 1 kg, semai 4 packets, sugar 1 kg, powdered milk 200 grams.

On Tuesday (March 26) afternoon, these Eid gifts were distributed among the poor visually impaired families at Bakshibazar central office of the National Visually Impaired Organization. At the beginning of the ceremony, the Holy Quran is recited and prayers are offered.

Ayub Ali Hawladar, Secretary General of the Central Committee of the National Visually Impaired Organization, presented some demands to Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the distribution of Eid gifts. The demands are to provide free permanent allocation of the house at the head office of the organization, 6 Orphanage Road, Bakshibazar, Dhaka-1211, to increase the disability allowance, to provide employment to the disabled people on the basis of merit and to free the helpless, poor, underprivileged visually impaired people from begging. Providing employment to any son or daughter, brother or sister based on merit.

Md. Nurul Alam Siddique, Chairman of the Central Committee of the National Visually Impaired Organization, presided over the event.
