Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued a stern warning against Israel, calling it a “genocide”. He said that Turkey will confront if necessary to stop the areas where Tel Aviv is trying to set fire. We will continue to fight until the perpetrators of the bloodshed of 40,000 innocent people in Gaza are brought to justice.

He said these things at an event of his Justice and Development (AK) party in the capital Ankara on Wednesday.

Erdogan met with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Ankara last week. There he said, by killing the leader of Hamas, Israel has proved that they have no habit of going to a ceasefire.

Last Wednesday, Türkiye filed a formal plea for a genocide case. South Africa also sued Tel Aviv at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) last year.

Recently, Lebanese Hezbollah commander Fouad Shukur and Palestinian Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh were killed. Both sides blame Israel for this. They also threatened to avenge these killings. This has increased the fear of regional conflict.
