On the occasion of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s 80th birthday, BNP will hold a Milad and Doa Mahfil across the country on Friday to pray for her long life, good health and for the souls of the martyrs and the injured in the uprising. This doa mahfil will be held on the ground floor of the central office of BNP in Nayapaltan of the capital at 11 o’clock on this day. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir along with senior leaders of the party will be present.

Meanwhile, police have been deployed at Khaleda Zia’s residence for her security. They started work by meeting Chief Security Coordinator Colonel (retd) Mohammad Ishaq Miah at his residence Feroza in Gulshan on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, the Ministry of Home Affairs ordered the police escort for Khaleda Zia’s security. Earlier, two letters were sent to the Public Security Secretary and the IGP asking for police security at his residence and during movement to the hospital.

After the fall of the Awami League government in the popular uprising, the government released Khaleda Zia by waiving her sentence on August 5. But he is still under treatment in the hospital.
