Iran’s recent ballistic missile attack has caused severe damage in the Bat Yam area of Tel Aviv, Israel. Reports indicate that several buildings collapsed, trapping at least 15 people under the rubble. Authorities fear many of them may have already died. According to the Times of Israel, the missile strikes followed Israeli air raids across Iran on Saturday night. The Iranian response reportedly targeted residential buildings, leaving at least 35 people unaccounted for in the Bat Yam region.

Israel’s earlier airstrikes hit various civilian and energy infrastructure across Iran, sparking fires at critical facilities, including the Shahran oil complex in Tehran. Following this, Iran launched a barrage of missiles at Israel, triggering air raid sirens across the country, with rockets also visible over major cities like Jerusalem and Haifa. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) urged residents to move to shelters immediately.

Iran’s missile assault was extensive, with hundreds of rockets, including dozens of ballistic missiles, fired towards Tel Aviv and nearby areas. Reports suggest that many of these missiles successfully bypassed Israel’s air defense systems. Local media confirm that the attacks killed at least seven Israeli settlers and injured over a hundred others.

Bat Yam was among the hardest-hit areas, with at least 74 people wounded—three critically, five moderately, and the rest sustaining minor injuries. In Rehovot, 28 more were injured, including two critically. Additionally, Iran’s missile strike inflicted serious damage on the Weizmann Institute of Science, one of Israel’s key weapons research centers. CCTV footage from the facility captured the moment of impact, and fires erupted in several laboratories, trapping many individuals inside.

Following the attacks, Israeli sources described the Bat Yam area as “unrecognizable,” with dozens feared dead beneath the ruins. The exchange of strikes comes amid stalled nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran. Israel’s initial air raids across Iran on Friday reportedly killed several senior Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists. Iranian sources claim that over the past two days, at least 80 people have been killed and 800 injured in Israeli attacks, including 20 children.
