Election of new principal through voting without the previous principal
As part of the practice of democracy in Tejgaon College, the former principal Dr. Harun-or-Rashid was declared uninvited due to numerous allegations of corruption and irregularities, being absent from the college for a long time and absconding. Later on Sunday afternoon, acting principal was elected from 4 candidates by taking the votes of 127 teachers. Md. Najibullah Khan, associate professor of marketing department won the election with 70 votes.
Apart from this, other candidates Prof Morshed Alam of Life Chemistry Department got 13 votes, Associate Professor Dr Rehana Sharmin of Finance Department got 20 votes, Aminul Haque of CSE Department got 24 votes.
Meanwhile, in view of the important 9-point demands of the general students of Tejgaon College, farmgate was blocked to carry out a sit-in program with the aim of realizing 3-point demands. Before that, the students took a rally from the college campus and took a stand at Farmgate intersection via Sangsad Bhawan.
