BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is going abroad this month to get advanced treatment. The medical board formed for his treatment took this decision. He will treat complex problems including liver transplant at a multiple disease center in the United States. This decision was taken on behalf of his local and foreign doctors, family members and team. However, it is known that Khaleda Zia’s other complications should be reduced by doing a full body checkup before this. According to doctors, liver transplant cannot be decided at first. Therefore measures will be taken according to the physical condition.

The new member of the BNP Standing Committee and Khaleda Zia’s personal doctor Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will go abroad for treatment as soon as possible. But where to go, in which hospital to get treatment – it is not finalized yet.

He also said that Khaleda Zia is under treatment at Evercare Hospital for about one and a half months. His condition can be said to be somewhat stable for the past few days. He has to be under the close observation of expert doctors. Now he is undergoing treatment in the comfortable cabin of CCU. Regarding the medical board’s recommendation to treat him at multiple centers abroad, he said, “We have started the process of taking him abroad.” In due course he will be taken abroad for treatment.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir earlier said in a praying ceremony last Friday that Khaleda Zia is going abroad very soon for better treatment. After his speech, the party chairperson’s trip abroad came into discussion.

Another member of the medical board said that before the fall of the Awami League government, a doctor of the medical board went to the United States and the United Kingdom with all his test reports. He consulted with expert doctors there. In the changed situation, now considering all aspects and according to everyone’s decision, everyone has given an opinion about Khaleda Zia going to the United States for advanced treatment.

Khaleda Zia’s medical board, team and her family have been demanding treatment abroad for a long time. The government has always rejected it by citing the law. The issue of Khaleda Zia’s release came to the fore after the resignation of the Sheikh Hasina government in the face of the student movement on August 5. In view of the demands of all political parties, the President released Khaleda Zia.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia received the passport. Currently, Khaleda Zia is undergoing treatment under the supervision of a medical board headed by Cardiologist Professor Shahabuddin Talukder of Evercare Hospital.
