Diana was the daughter of father John Spencer and mother Frances Roach. Diana was the fourth child of her parents.

Diana spent her childhood in different parts of England. He attended Riddlesworth Hall and later West Heath School. Diana did not excel in traditional education, but had a passion for social work and children from an early age.
